Will You Remember

Psalms 77 1-3

“I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.” Your ways, God, are holy. What god is as great as our God?”

Psalms 77 1-3 NIV

There are times in our lives when God is silent. When we are going through difficult times that do not seem to end. The world seems to be winning the battle. At these times, the world likes to say that God does not really exist, or is not really in control.

Believers begin to wonder if they really had ever heard God speak before and if the world may be correct. Many will spend hours crying out to God for an answer, lying awake during the night in fear as they cry out to God. Others will start to blame themselves for God being so silent. They will confess sins and ask to be forgiven on sins that had been confessed a dozen times. They may begin to question whether they are really believers or not.

David in this passage had some of those same questions. He wondered whether God would reject them forever or not. He questioned whether God had failed in His promises or not. These are the same questions people ask to this day. However, David then says that He will remember the deeds and miracles God had done in the past. He will then focus and meditate on those good things.

There will come times in our lives when we feel that God has rejected us. God will be silent and appear to be leaving us all on our own. We may be crying out to God for help and appearing to get no answer. When these times occur, turn your focus on who God is and what He has done.

Read the Bible and learn how others had times where God was silent. Learn how there were times when God seemed far away. Yet, God always fulfilled His promises. God may be testing you to build your trust in Him higher. If you read the Bible, you know that God will never leave or forsake you, and that He will always fulfill His promises. Now stand on that and meditate on those things that God had done in your life.

David asks, “What god is great like our God?” There is none. There is no other. Our God is the only great God. He is the only true God. Remember his deeds and his wonders of old. Ponder all of His work in your life. And meditate on His mighty deeds. Praise Him because His way is Holy!!!

Father thank You for this day and for Your promises that are tried and true. Lord let Your abundant blessings flow over my friend and family today. Lord You know that we have no power in ourselves to help ourselves, keep us both outwardly in our bodies and inwardly in our souls, that we may be defended from all adversities which may happen to us, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and hurt our soul. Lord You know how weak we are and how short our lives on this earth truly is, teach us to make the most of the days You have given us that we may love and serve You with our whole heart. Lord use my friend to be the light and touch of Your love to all today. Be a blessing.

Father, we love You. Amen !
