Waiting diligently

2 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬-‭15

“So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.”

‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God is behind every glorious work and He will not share His glory. He will not allow any obstacle to get in the way of the shining brilliance of His Son. Therefore, He needs clean vessels to do His work. At the peak moment when His blessings and power are flowing freely through His people, He tells them, Pause now and put it all on hold. I want you to examine your heart. Peter is communicating to us that God is involved, that He does indeed care, and that He is concerned and does intervene in history, thus we can trust Him. If people come against your belief in Christ and good character, take comfort. No matter what others say or do, God will intervene in His time, and make them the ultimate fools. Peter continues to tell us to beware of scoffers who deny Christ's return. We often need to be reminded of this, no matter how long we have been in the Lord. We need that gentle refreshing to stimulate us into correct thinking so we can have the faith and strength to stay on His path. We are to know the Scriptures and be disciplined in the faith because this is what keeps our minds on Him, and when we practice these precepts, they become rooted and make us firmer in our faith. We have an important reason to be spiritually alert, to identify and expose the evils of our day, and not to become ensnared by them. We also have a great incentive to live a holy and blameless life that abides in Christ and is honouring to the Lord. And so, we are urged by Peter to live in peace with one another, to walk in spirit and in truth, and to share the good news of the gospel of grace with those that are dead in their sins. As the apostle Peter draws his final letter to a close, we should all take note of the increasing urgency of his message and remain watchful for the any day return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. As you daily expect Christ to return, you will increasingly buy up every opportunity you have to call lost men and women to be reconciled to God, to turn from their sins in repentance and trust in His person and work through faith alone, by grace alone, in Christ alone. And that opportunity is only right now, while God is still exercising His patience but not forever. As God remains patient during this season of mercy, you will buy up every opportunity to explain the only way of salvation. The Lord only delays His return in order to save the remainder of His elect. The Lord is waiting for all His chosen family to have time to come to salvation in Christ. Like the father of the prodigal son, your God responds to repentant sinners with massive mercy and lavish grace joyously and generously given to those who come by faith. May we all be diligent to guard our hearts and minds and be found at peace in Christ. May we be spotless in thought, word, deed, and motive, knowing that the time is short!!

Father thank You for this day and the urgency of Peter's epistle. Lord let Your abundant blessings be my friend and family’s portion today. Lord may we take note of the warning to identify error and pursue Your perfect peace as the time for Your return draws ever closer. Lord may we rest in You and, in the power of the Holy Spirit, be spotless in thought, word, deed, and motive, for we desire to live blamelessly before Your face. Lord use my friend to be the touch of Your love today to all. Daddy we love You amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !!
