Lamentations 3:19-26 NIV
“I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.“

The reality of the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never, ever, ever come to an end. The mercies of the Lord are new every single morning, and the faithfulness of the Lord is sure forever. I just want to remind you of this, that you might live in this today, especially, especially if you are going through affliction, or if you have wandered this way or that way.
Even just a hard painful even bitter time with your soul bowed down within you, I just want to encourage you with this Word from God, His mercies are new for you right now. Right now. His steadfast love for you never ever ceases. God loves you, and He wants to pour out new mercy on you today in a way that’s even more glorious than yesterday or a week ago or 10 years ago, that His mercies are new for you today, that He is faithful to you, and you can hope in Him.
Even as we walk through this journey and we think about where we would be in this world without the hope of Jesus, without the faithfulness of God, without the new mercies of God, without the steadfast love of God, we would indeed be hopeless.
But God is faithful. God is loving. His love is steadfast, and His mercies are continually flowing, and all of that is possible because Jesus has come. He has paid the price for sin. He has reconciled us to God. The Lord has opened up for us a fountain of new mercies to flow every day. He has shown us the faithfulness of God for our salvation.
He has shown us the steadfast love of the Lord that overcomes even our sinful resistance and rebellion. All glory be to Your name for Your love, O God, for your steadfast love that never ceases. All glory be to Your name, Jesus, for coming and paying the price for our sins that the fountain of new mercies would never, ever, ever cease to flow in our lives.
Obviously, I don’t know all that’s going on in your life, but I do know this and no matter what’s going on in your life today, or what will happen tomorrow, that you have hope in the steadfast love of the Lord for you. That His steadfast love for you, for all who trust in Him, through Jesus, His son, His steadfast love for you, never ceases and that His mercies never come to an end. That every morning you wake up, God delights to show you new mercies and that God will be faithful to you, faithful to provide for you, to lead you, to guide you through whatever is going on in your life, that as long as He is your portion, you have hope in Him.
Would you just receive this today in your life, these words spoken over all who trust in Jesus, which leads us to pray. Jesus, we praise you for making this hope and love and mercy possible for us through your death on the cross and your resurrection from the grave. So based upon faith in you, we say together, we have hope. We praise you for your hope.
God is indeed faithful to His Word which cannot be broken and so with the grieving Jeremiah, we too can trace the rainbow through the rain and proclaim, The Lord is my portion therefore we should have hope in Him!!!
Father thank You for this day and for Your abundant blessings that You will bestow upon us today. Lord I pray for a fresh sense of hope for anyone who’s experiencing despair right now, who’s struggling in any way, that you right now, would speak to the hearts of your people and remind them in this moment, they have hope and their hope is in the unfailing, never ending, steadfast love that you have for them, that you have for us, that will never cease, with mercies that are new every morning.
