United

1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The Lord is a Spirit, and we are human spirits, and when regeneration occurs there is a fusing of identity. Think about that for a minute. What a fantastic statement that is. That represents the dignity of humanity above anything in the animal world that we have an ability, a capacity within us to fuse with the very nature of God so that there is no distinction left between us and him as to identity. We are one spirit and from there on that becomes our true you, our true identity. Imagine for a moment that someone stole your credit card. That person is checking buying stuff in your name and racking up huge debt. What would you do? If you’re like most people, you’d tell someone. You’d let the credit card company know, get a new card, and try to track down the person who was stealing from you. None of us like being stolen from. But often, in our lives we let the devil steal from us. He tries to get us to question our identity. Often, we allow him to lie to us and tell us we’re not worthy, that we don’t have what it takes, or that we’re unloveable. The truth is, if we let them, those lies will keep us from doing what God wants for our lives. Challenge for today I’d to Walk in our Identity in Christ. Today’s Bible verse tells us that we have an identity in Christ. Our worth and value come when we identify ourselves in Christ. You might look in the mirror and see all the imperfections and the ways you might not measure up. However, that’s not what God sees when He looks at you. He sees someone valuable. He sees someone worth dying for. But he that is joined to the Lord, the true Christian, united by faith to the Lord Jesus. Is one spirit. That is, in a sense similar to that in which a man and his wife are one body. It is not to be taken literally, but the sense is, that there is a close and intimate union, they are united in feeling, spirit, intention, disposition. The argument is beautiful. It is, "As the union of souls is more important than that of bodies as that union is more lasting, dear, and enduring than any union of body with body can be, and as our union with Him is with a Spirit pure and holy, it is improper that we should sever that tie, and break that sacred bond. The union with Christ is more intimate, entire, and pure than that can be between a man and woman and that union should be regarded as sacred and inviolable. So today, practice identifying yourself with Jesus. Choose to see who you are through Jesus, not what you are on your own. As you do, you can begin to stop believing the lies the devil tries to tell you. You begin to see that you’re worth it and your life matters. Let this verse teach us self-forgetfulness and Christ obsession!!!

Father thank You for this day and we ask that You would hold us fast and that You would do this by the power of Your Spirit who makes us one with the Lord Jesus Christ. Lord let Your abundant blessings pour out over my friend and family today. Lord we can’t fathom, we can’t understand what that being one would mean, we can’t even imagine the experience of truly being one spirit with Jesus Christ, without any division between us not even our own sin. Lord we ask that You would continue to help us put our sin to death in this life. Lord we pray that You would build us up in You for Your glory. So, in the last day none of us would look to ourselves to see if we were worthy but only look to the beauty of You. Lord use my friend today to be a blessing to someone that needs it. Daddy we love you amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !!
