Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].”
Proverbs 3:5-6 AMP
Our trust in the Lord should not only be in connection with the salvation of our soul, but should become the driving force of our entire being, influencing the direction of our lives, for He knows what is best for each one of us, and is working in each of our lives from an eternal perspective.
The plans He has for each one of His own, reach beyond our knowledge or understanding. How foolish to drink from the harsh waters of this world's broken cisterns when He floods our hearts and lives with the sparkling river of life.
These verses are so foundational. I find myself praying them all the time in my life over others’ lives. So let’s just soak it in almost like this is the first time we are hearing it, and maybe it is the first time you’re hearing it, but even if you’ve heard it a thousand times, hear God saying Trust in me with all your heart.
This is what it means to live by faith. It means to trust God with everything that’s happening in the world and everything that’s happening in our world, in our lives, with all our heart.
Now to hold back in any way from trusting in God with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding, this is so foundational to faith, to realize that our understanding is not complete, that our understanding is not always accurate. We don’t see everything, and don’t know everything. We don’t perceive all that God is doing. So don’t lean on your own understanding and all your ways, acknowledge Him.
Just think about what it looks like in your life today, all day long, to just acknowledge Him in all your ways, at every moment, for the eyes of your heart to be attuned to God and His Spirit, a God consciousness to dominate your day and all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths. He will lead you. He will guide you. That’s a promise. He will direct you in ways that are good for you.
The wisest man who ever lived advised his sons to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding," and his prudent advice is something we should all seek to consciously follow, today, as a matter of will today!!!
Father thank You for this day and that You know all things and that we can trust ourselves, our families, our friends, our work, our homes, our finances, into Your hands. Lord let Your abundant blessings fall from the windows of heaven over my friend and family today. Lord please make our paths straight and remove any obstacles that may lead us astray from Your righteous and loving path.
Lord grant us the clarity to discern Your will and the courage to follow it, even when it may seem unclear or difficult. Lord use my friend to be the blessing someone needs today.
Father, we love You. Amen !
