The Lord Watches Over Us

Psalms‬ ‭121:1-2‬

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

Psalms‬ ‭121:1-2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It is proven that we always stand in need of help. However, it is one thing to need help, but it is necessary to know the true source of our help. The psalmist resolutely declares that he knows where to find his help. He unwaveringly proclaims that his help comes from the LORD.

You and I stand continuously in need of help. We are powerless to stand up to the wicked forces that consistently set their sights on seeking to destroy us without the Lord’s help. Only the One who has created Heaven and Earth is able to surround us with an impenetrable fence, He is our sure protection.

If we look at where we are right now, it is only by His loving grace and mercy that He has brought us this far. But this is what I do know our help comes not from financial security, technological advancement, or strength of arms. Rather, it comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. He holds our future safe in His hands.

We can trust Him each step of the way, to guard us and to bring us safely to Himself in the end. The journey may be hard and challenging. It may even be cut short. But we can know who we have believed and are convinced that He will keep us until the end.

The one who created the cosmos, in all its complexity and vastness, knows and cares for us. How amazing is that? God wants to help us  with our day to day life. He’s not just a God to know on Sunday at church. He wants to be involved and help us out in every situation we encounter.

Let’s choose today to go to God for help. Don’t try to live your life in your own strength and ability, but rather lean on God’s help. We are so blessed to know that Jesus has already come as the perfect sacrifice.

Once we have surrendered our lives to Him and acknowledged that He alone has atoned for our sins, then we can truly sing with these pilgrims, "Where does my help come from?", " my help comes from the Lord, maker of heaven and earth!"

Praise God that our strength and help, provision and protection comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth, and He will never leave us nor forsake us but will be our ever-present help!!!

Father thank You for this day and that You are our ever-present help in troubled times and that by the blood of Christ we now have access to Your throne of grace, for mercy to find help in time on need. Lord let Your abundant blessings be my friend and family’s’ portion today. Lord You are the one true source of redemption, power, comfort, encouragement, hope, and excellence. Lord thank You for the opportunities to lift up our eyes to the hills, from where You come running to us, so that we may know that You are our Savior and Friend, faithful and true. Lord use my friend to proclaim that You are the help that all need today. Be a blessing.

Father, we love You. Amen !
