The Lord’s Hands

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭23‬-‭24

“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.“

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭NIV‬‬

As we navigate life's journey, aligning our steps with His way brings not only divine direction but also a sense of fulfillment and joy. Our actions and choices matter to God. Living in alignment with His principles brings joy to our Creator. It's a call to lean on His grace, acknowledging our dependence on Him and finding comfort in His unwavering support.

Falls are a recurring part of our physical life from childhood when we try to take our first steps through old age as our bodies weaken. Falls in our spiritual life will come too. God’s Word can help us navigate those times as we grow stronger in our dependence on Him.

It is amazing to know that as a child of God He directs, orders and establishes our comings and goings. That is, the LORD always leads us to the things that will cause us to glorify Him and will ultimately be for our good. This requires that we understand that He will always do what is best for us regardless of what it takes for us to either be corrected by chastening or trials which will produce strength and endurance in us.

He always knows what is best for us. Sometimes we become beside ourselves and think that we know what is best, only to lead us down a path to trouble.

The Lord always knows how to get us back on track. The lives of God's children are precious to Him. He will direct our steps around danger and He has the ability to protect us in the midst of danger.

He omnipotently and omnisciently takes us through the course of life and guides us through the doom and disasters of life into His presence. Our steps are ordered. God expects us to trust that He is working out His plan and purpose in our lives. He is sovereign and perfectly in control.

Which brings us to this truth: Our job is not to figure out where our lives need to go, what direction we should be walking in, what goal or opportunity we need to pursue or let go of. Our job is to be delighting in our God, in the goodness that is His everlasting love and care for us.

Knowing what steps to take in our lives is the fruit of our delight in Him. As we remain open and connected to His voice, then we will never feel abandoned or forgotten, even when we make mistakes or act before He asks us to.

The details here are important, and the more we notice God in all the details, the more we will trust Him moment by moment. We will begin to notice His hand in everything in our lives. He is the Master Artist and Author, always painting in the fine color and detail of God ordained moments where He connects all the dots and writes new chapters in the story of our life.

Most of the people who did great things for God did it in small steps and stages. In the Bible, David killed the lion and the bear before defeating the giant. This shows us that it is often the small choices and the small steps we make each day that end up making a big difference in the course of our lives.

So today remember to act on the small things that God is putting on your heart to do. Those small things often end up setting you up for big things later in life!!!

Father, thank you for this day and for guiding our steps through it. Lord, let Your abundant blessings be my friend and family's portion today. Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness to us through all our faithful and unfaithful days, through all our obedience and disobedience. Lord, set our feet to stand firm in any uncertainties of this life. Help us to believe that in the uncertainty of life, You are the God of certainty and You are in control of everything. Lord, use my friend to be the blessing someone needs today and all tomorrows.

Father, we love You. Amen !
