THE LORD REIGNS

Psalm 93:1-2

The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength. Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved. Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting. Psalm 93:1-2, NKJV

There is one constant in life of which we can be very sure: the Lord reigns. He has reigned from eternity past and will continue to reign for eternity to come. He is the One who established this world, and without Him it cannot be moved.

Due to recent weather, we all know the power of the hurricane and the power of tsunamis, and yet the Lord is mightier than the noise of many waters and the mighty waves of the sea. That should give us a great sense of peace. In a time when the threat of terrorism, nuclear war, or a coronavirus is constantly upon us, we are reminded that man can do nothing to destroy this world that God has created.

If indeed destruction of the world comes, it will come at the hand of God due to the great sin and wickedness of mankind. What an amazing God we serve, and how wondrous and glorious that the true believer can rest safely in Him. We do not need to fear the terror by day or night, for at all times we are resting safely in His guidance and protection.

Even when the days of adversity come, we know that God sends only what we need to grow us to become more and more like Him. And He promises that when we go through the waters of adversity, He will go right along with us! Pray today that you will go about your day in peace thinking about this psalm and knowing that God reigns over everything; there is nothing that man can do against the everlasting power of God!!!

Father, thank You for this day and the breath of Your Word. Lord, open the storehouses of Your abundant blessings, and pour them upon us and our family today. Lord, we praise You for Your majesty, Your power, Your wisdom, and Your holiness. Lord, we know that we cannot really understand or fathom Your greatness or just how awesome You are, but You have revealed enough to us that we can know You are God. Lord, give us a loving heart today for those who are lost in the darkness of this world.

Father, we love You. Amen.
