2 Corinthians 12:9-10
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NIV
The world of today is not that different from the world Paul lived in. The world sees strength and power as the key to success. According to our society, those who are weak or victimized will never get ahead. Yet Paul teaches a different story when writing to the Corinthian church. In telling his own story of conversion, Paul says that it was only when he was made weak that God was made strong in his life. Just like Jesus who took on the painful embarrassment of the cross, God’s victory over the evil of the world came through humble suffering. What a great testimony to the grace of God and the power of Christ, which is made perfect in our weaknesses. No matter what you and I are facing and no matter what tests and trials we may be required to face, we have God's full assurance that His grace is sufficient for all eventualities that may come our way. When we are weak, when we are unable to trust in our own strengths or abilities, that is when we can be the strongest. If we will trust in God’s grace and power, then our weakness will be turned into a strength. Learn to delight in weakness and see it as an opportunity for God to work through you. Strength in weakness, our weakness, God’s strength an unbeatable combination. It is by the grace of God that we are destined to conquer, destined to win. It is not by our own might, nor by our own power, but by the Spirit of Almighty God. Grace signifies the good will of God towards us, and that is enough to enlighten and enliven us, sufficient to strengthen and comfort in all afflictions and distresses. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. Thus His grace is manifested and magnified. When we are weak in ourselves, then we are strong in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we feel that we are weak in ourselves, then we go to Christ, receive strength from Him and enjoy most the supplies of Divine strength and grace. Do you know that Lord’s grace is sufficient for you? He always prepares sufficient grace for every kind of circumstance in life. That’s how He was before, how He is now, and how He will be in the future. We don’t need to pretend to have it all together. We don’t need to hide our weakness. God’s Kingdom is upside down. The world highlights strength, the Bible highlights weakness. Why? Because in our weakness God’s power is perfected. May God give us a humble heart so that we may experience more of His grace in our lifetime!!!
