Sent To Save, Not Condemn

‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭17

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The world stands in the shadow of destruction. Were it not for God's love for us in Jesus, we would face the same end as the world. God, however, is the Creator, the Life-Giver, and the Joy-Bringer. The goal of his holiness is not our destruction, but our redemption. The goal of His righteousness is not anger, but salvation.

Jesus came to our world, a world headed for destruction, and placed God's stamp of grace on it. He came to reverse the powers of decay, death, and destruction and put permanence, life, and salvation in their place. Jesus is God's great reminder to us that God not only loves us but that he also has only good and glorious intentions for our lives and our eternal futures.

So many believers are living under condemnation. So many see God as an angry God with a big stick, watching our every movement with a frown on His face, waiting in anticipation for us to do something wrong so that He can punish us.

If only believers would take what the Word of God says literally and believe what it says, so many would not be living their lives under condemnation but would be rejoicing in the Lord. "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."

This verse follows arguably the most famous verse in the Bible which tells us: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life."

John 3:16 tells us the glorious news of the gospel of salvation: "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved." But verse 17 give us context, meaning, and the gravity of the situation for those who chose not to trust in Jesus and accept His free gift of salvation: "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

It was out of love and not cruelty that God sent His only begotten Son into the world to die for the sin of the world, and once a sinner believes this simple truth, he is immediately saved and is not condemned.

But how many believers continue to live the life under a self-imposed condemnation, simply because they do not read God's Word or believe what they read.

The gospel is good news. Jesus wasn’t sent to condemn you. He came to rescue you. That means you have value to God. To God, it doesn’t matter the sin you’ve committed, your upbringing, or social status. God loves you and sent His son to be your savior.

Don’t allow yourself to believe the lie that you do not matter. God sees you as important and your life has a purpose. In the midst of all of the challenges of life, keep your focus on Jesus.

Let His value and opinion of you be the one that counts. Jesus came to rescue you. So today choose to see the value he sees in you and in others. Know that you are vital to God’s plan on the earth!!!

Father thank You for this day and

for the Bible and for the truth that it contains. Lord let Your portion be my friend and family’s abundance today. Lord guide us into all truth, we pray, knowing that all we need for salvation and sanctification is contained within the pages of Scripture. Lord redeem our view of You and Your intentions for us just as You have redeemed our souls from sin. Lord use my friend to be the light of Your love to all today. Be a blessing.

Father, we love You. Amen !
