Return to God

Isaiah‬ ‭44‬:‭22

“I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.””

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭44‬:‭22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

How incredible it is to know that the moment we place our faith in the Lord Jesus and give Him our lives, we receive complete forgiveness for all that would otherwise separate us from having a relationship with our Holy Father. It’s a done deal, sealed eternally by His Spirit. Though we may  stumble along the course of our lives, His mercy never fails, His compassion never runs out. Though we have been redeemed by His mighty hand, at times we are prone to wander from the close relationship we once shared with the Lord. Whether you have taken a few steps from His side or find yourself miles away from the God who redeemed you, know that He is ready to receive you back in His arms the moment that you turn to Him with a surrendered heart. When a person purchases something, he expects to get it. The object purchased is expected to become his property and he is allowed to have it and do with it as he pleases. Loans are often received with some object put up as collateral to ensure that the person will pay back the loan. As soon as he has made the last payment, the object that was put up for collateral is expected to be returned to him. It becomes his property again, because the full payment was made. God is telling the people of Israel and us that He has paid the price for their sins and wiped them out. He had purchased their lives and now belonged to Him. Since they belonged to Him, they were to return to Him. At the moment Jesus died upon the cross, He had paid the price for sin for every person, for all time. He bought back the people for God’s use. Every person who has chosen to follow Jesus, has realized that he was redeemed, bought back. Think about what this verse represents in your life. When we turn from our sins to God, when we trust in Him for the forgiveness of our sins, specifically trust in Christ as the one who paid the price for our sins, then by faith in Christ in returning to God and repenting from sin, turning from our sin and trusting in Him, God says, “I’ve blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist.” You think about it. Can you see mist? No. It’s there, and it evaporates. It’s gone. This is the picture of our sins before our Holy God. I hope God’s salvation and ongoing forgiveness encourages your heart today. There is always hope for relief from the discouragement of sin. Just look up at the son to be reminded!!!

Father thank You for this day and for Your life sustaining Word. Lord open the storehouses of Your abundant blessings let them flow over my friend and family. Lord help us to hate sin today. Lord us to turn from sin. Lord if we do wander into sin, help us to run back to You immediately. Lord help us to return to You immediately as our redeemer in the confidence we have that when we confess our sins, thank You for cleansing us from all unrighteousness. We don’t deserve this grace. We praise you for blotting out our transgressions like a cloud and our sins like mist. Lord use my friend to be the light of Your love to all today. Daddy we love You amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !!
