Precious Faith

‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭3

“Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours: Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”

‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God commended His love towards us in that while we were still sinners and estranged from Himself, Christ died for us, forgave us of our sins, removed us from condemnation, came to take up residence within our hearts, and abide within us. We are positioned in Christ Who gave us His life, promised to do a good work within us, bestowed on us eternal life, and poured into us the riches of His glory, simply because we trusted Him as Saviour. The Lord Jesus is not simply God's only begotten Son, but is Himself Deity, God incarnate, very God of very God. We are not worthy to gather up the crumbs under His table and yet He is the God of all grace, abundant grace, multiplied grace, and He is the Father of all mercies, comfort, and peace. God made peace with us when we were born from above, and gave us His inner, perfect peace within, a peace which passes all understanding. He also promised us an inheritance in Christ that is beyond our imagination. And yet, Peter prays that the grace and peace of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ be multiplied in our lives and magnified in our hearts. God has given us everything we need for living a godly life: Pressed down, shaken together, and running over, and yet Peter's desire for all God's children is that His grace and His peace be multiplied to us. Living the fully persuaded life, the convinced life, the life of faith, means that we put our faith in the Word of God more specifically, the Promises of God. Peter was one of those who understood what this meant more keenly than anyone else. His human side constantly put him in situations where he need to know that God was still with him and that He still loved him, and so he rested his faith on the promises of God, and it worked. He knew God could be trusted. It's super important that we know and accept who we are. We should be living the life God appointed for us. If we are not we will finish our days in frustration. The sooner we commit to live the life God intended for us the sooner we will live in His peace. It may be hard to believe, when we look at our present circumstances, but God has already given us everything we need for life not just for god-likeness, simply through the connection we have with Him. We have it now. It's the Word of Promise in our mouth. May God's abundant grace and incomprehensible peace continue to be multiplied towards all His children as we seek to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk in humble submission before Him all the days of our life in love!!!

Father thank You for this day and Your grace and mercy, Your comfort and peace, and that You have given us all that is needful for life and Godliness through the knowledge of Jesus. Lord let Your abundance flow from the storehouses of blessings over my friend and family today. Lord thank You for the riches of Your grace and peace which continue to be multiplied with every passing day as we come to a deeper knowledge of You. Lord may Your name be glorified in our hearts and in our lives to Your honour and glory. Lord use my friend to be the touch of Your love to all today. Daddy we love You amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !!
