No Chaos Matters God Is In Control

Isaiah‬ ‭54‬:‭16‬-‭17

“See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc; no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭54‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Here we find a promise from God that He is still honoring to this day, though sometimes it can be difficult to see its fulfillment. Every time we read a news report about believers being killed for their faith, it seems like the enemy is winning, as though the weapons formed against them are defeating them.

It is in those moments that we must do as Proverbs tells us: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart / And lean not on your own understanding” (3:5). Though earthly weapons can destroy these fleshly tents our souls currently live in, there is no earthly weapon that can destroy our relationship with God or separate us from His love and care.

In this glorious text, the Lord God promises to every believer complete and perfect protection, vindication, and justification. As we walk in God’s righteousness, no weapon that comes against us will prosper, and nothing that is said against us will have any value, and will be shown to be false in the end.

Our confidence rests upon the sure promises of our all-powerful God, Who reminds us throughout His Word, that He is the Almighty, Sovereign Ruler of the universe, and has given us His assurance that no weapon, whether physical or spiritual, will prosper against His blood-bought children.

Our trust is in the God of our salvation for He has given us His assurance that every accusing tongue will be silenced, and every judgemental charge against us shall be condemned and God has placed His Word above His Holy Name.

Although this passage may have been addressed to Israel, it is true for all God's children in every dispensation, for no weapon that is formed against the people of God will prosper, and every tongue that accuses them in judgment will be condemned. We are blessed to know that this is a promise to all God's people.

We must never fear those that can only war against our bodies, which like the grass of the field, is here for one brief moment in the history of eternity, for greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. Rather, we must rejoice in the Lord, knowing that our eternal souls are secure in Christ, for we are declared righteous through Jesus Christ His Son.

Let us depend on the Word of truth for His protection from all dangers, knowing that the angel of His presence encamps around all who are His. Let us rest on the assurances of His presence in every one of life's difficulties, knowing that no weapon formed against us will prosper, and every tongue that accuses us in judgement will be condemned.

Over and over again history has recorded that when persecution comes and tries to destroy believers, the result of that persecution is in fact strengthened faith, not defeated faith. To this day persecution causes faith to spread. And it isn’t just the faith of those directly involved that is strengthened, but that of all believers around the world who are watching.

Truth will always prevail. People gossip and say things that aren’t true to ruin our reputation and they do many other evil things. But the truth will be revealed, the error of their speech and the motives behind it will be exposed.

The promise God gave to His chosen people Israel is as sure for the promises He has made to us who believe that, "'No weapon that is formed against you will prosper, and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn, for this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their vindication is from Me, declares the Lord!!!”

Father thank You for this day and that there is nothing in the physical or spiritual realm that can triumph over us that we are secure in Christ, and every accusation of the enemy will be condemned. Lord let Your abundant blessings flow like a river over my friend and family today. Lord help us never to fear those that seek to harm is in word or in deed. Lord help us to be a faithful witness of Your steadfast grace in the place where You have put us. Lord use my friend to be a bold witness of Your peace to all today. Be a blessing.
