Living Hope

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭5‬

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We all put our hope in something. We hope in our savings accounts to bring security, we hope in our relationships to make us happy, we hope in our careers and hobbies to bring fulfillment, we hope in healthy living to bring us long life, we hope in obedient children to give us peace, we hope in entertainment to bring us comfort and joy the list can go on and on. Even those that feel hopeless demonstrate that they put their hope in something and have simply come to realize that it has failed them. The God and Father of Jesus Christ is deserving of our thankful praise and eternal worship for His overflowing grace and His abundant mercy. He is Father with respect to Christ's divinity and He is God regarding the humanity of our Lord Jesus and how we bless His wonderful name. This is my Father and this is your Father. This is my God - and your God if you believe in His Son’s redemption. Our praises stream back to the cruel cross and the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, and our hallelujahs fly forwards to the glories set before us and our eternal home, for we are redeemed by His blood, born anew by grace through faith, and resurrected with new life in Him. It is a great and a glorious hope. It is a certain hope and positive hope. It is a hope anchored on God's unchangeable promises and steadfast name. Though we delight in John as the apostle of love and Paul as our chief apostle of faith, we identify Peter as our great apostle of hope. Today we are strangers in a hostile world and sojourners in a place that is passing away, but our hope is securely grounded on Christ, Who is our Chief Apostle and our Great High Priest.Let us live upright and Godly lives in this present age as we wait for that blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, in Whom we trust. Christ, and at His return we will be clothed in a new, eternal body when the trumpet sounds and the dead in Christ are raised incorruptible. Praise God that our whole spirit, soul, and body is kept blameless until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us live our lives as unto the Lord, as we abide in Him and He in us!!!

Father thank You for this day and how we praise and thank You that we are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation, ready for that wonderful day when we will see You, face to face. Lord open the floodgates of heaven and rain down Your abundant blessings over my friend and family. Lord help us to live our lives in a way that honours Your Holy Name. Lord we  worship You for Your overflowing grace and abundant mercy. Lord thank You that through faith in Your death and Resurrection, You have brought us into Your family and set before us the living hope of heaven. Lord use my friend to be someone’s blessing today. Daddy we love You amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !!
