Jesus, radiance of God’s glory

   Hebrews‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭4

“In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.”‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The opening verses of Hebrews lay the foundation for the glorious truth of Who the Lord Jesus Christ is and how great is His status and His position. He has a name that is more excellent that any created being, for He is the eternal God incarnate. He is the infinite God in the flesh, the Creator of the universe, born into the human race, fully God but also fully man, yet without sin. His status and position is above every created thing, whether in heaven, or on earth, or under the earth, for He is the One through Whom all things are created, including humankind and the angelic hosts of high. His rank is so much more superior to the angels rank in position, and honour, and glory, and power. He alone is the uncreated God of all. God does speak to us in many and various ways; we all can be sure of that. But the author of Hebrews wants us to know that we are in the last days. And in these last days, God has decided to speak a final, complete, perfect Word. And that Word is Jesus. He is God’s perfect Word to us, the message from God that tells us everything we need to know. The perfect revelation of who God is, and of God’s love for us, and of God’s plan for us. No book in the Bible focus our attention upon the deity and high priestly work of Jesus Christ like the book of Hebrews. Here is the supreme revelation of God to men in the most beautiful language possible. Only on the basis of the Bible as the Word of the Lord can we ever have agreement on Christ, and the way of salvation. This special revelation of God cannot be understood save by the inner testimony of the Holy Spirit. The knowledge of God comes not only from external special revelation, but also from internal insight which is the gift of grace, the true faith of a saved soul. This inner testimony of the Spirit works in connection with the revelation of God which is the instrument of illumination. Both the external and internal witness of the Holy Spirit work together bearing witness to the saving grace of God through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is God's final word to man. There is nothing else to be added. What God has said through the Son is greater than that spoken through the prophets. God revealed Himself fully through the person, character, words, behavior, works of His Son. Jesus reveals God to man by His whole person. Of all the many and various ways that God speaks to us, none is sweeter than Jesus!!!

Father thank You for this day and the breath of life through Your spoken Word through Jesus. Lord open the storehouses of Your abundant blessings and shower them down upon my friend and family today. Oh God may we never fall into the trap of worshipping or glorifying angels, an angel could never save mankind but only God incarnate, Your only begotten Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ could save us, may our worship, glory, and honor be for Him. Lord use my friend to be the voice in the wilderness of this world proclaiming Your saving grace today. Daddy we love you amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !!
