Inspiration, Illumination, Revelation

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

As we thumb through the pages of Scripture, which have become so familiar to us, it is a challenging and awesome thing to consider Who it is that lies behind those inspired pages and the eternal significance of their content. The written Word of God is not just a collection of curious books, penned in antiquity. Scripture is a direct revelation from the living God to His born-again people, and we would do well to take every page to heart. It is no surprise that the Word of God is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness, for it is given by inspiration of God. It unveils His holy character and reveals His divine plan for mankind. It convicts us of our need of a Saviour, and teaches us about the eternal plan of the Creator. It informs us of what God expects of His children, and guides us along the road of righteous living. It trains us in the path of patient endurance, and it furnishes us with examples of lives that are lived in humble obedience to our Father in heaven. The Word of God is living and active; a treasure trove and rich with history, inspired by God. The study of Scripture can lead you from one rich vein of the mine of truth to yet another richer, fuller vein of understanding, if you are willing to search and delve into it. However, unlike fabled lost mines of the Southwest, the Bible, God’s Word, is not lost. The Bible is the best selling book of all time, speaking truth to those who seek it and leading others to salvation. Rich in history, wisdom, and knowledge for those willing to take the the time to mine for these treasures.  And what’s the result? Love, joy, peace, salvation, and instructions for right living. The Holy Scriptures are treasures no one can take from you.  Unlike a 401K retirement plan or money invested in the stock market, they will not be swept away with an economic downturn. The Word of God, hidden in your heart, can sustain you in the darkest of times, and it can be shared with hungry souls to satisfy their spiritual needs.  It is a treasure to be shared, not hoarded, for when it is shared, it brings life, hope, love and salvation. God wants us to be prepared to do good works. Thankfully he gave us the Scriptures. Today we have the Bible translated into many different languages, dialects, and versions. Rather than a threat, this is a great blessing. But we must remember that the goal of Scripture is not to be learned but to be lived. God intended His Word to be practical truth, a gift that prepares us to do every good work!!!

Father thank you for this day and for the inspired Word for the God-breathed Scriptures. Lord pour out Your abundant blessings let them flow over my friend and family today. Lord teach us, convict us, correct us and train us through the living, powerful inspired Word of truth, that we may be equipped to carry out the work that You have ordained for us to do. Lord keep us mindful of the dark days that face us in these end times and may we live and work to Your praise and glory. Lord use my friend to be a light in this dark world to lead others onto Your path today. Daddy we love you amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !!

We can definitely see how God speaks to us through his word in 2 Timothy we’re reminded how it can make us aware of our purpose and I especially like that illustration of miner’s and how it takes digging into his word for this treasure. Oh that’s a great reminder of the work we must PUT FORTH!!!💪🏼🙏
