Heavenly Helper

 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:19-24

“Do not quench the spirit.” Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.”

‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:19-24‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Although the heavens declare the glory of God and creation shouts abroad the wonders of His name, only the Word of God gives us a full and final revelation of the Father, in the face of Jesus Christ. And we discover that by faith in Christ's sacrifice on the Cross, the Holy Spirit of God does many wonderful things in our hearts. Let us not quench the purifying work of the Spirit in our lives, but rather let us surrender in humility of heart and permit Him to guide us into all truth, through the washing of the water with the Word of God, for all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. We must love the Spirit working in us and pray that the Spirit will continue to be active in our hearts. But if we stop praying for the Spirit to work in us and if we stop reading the Bible, and stop listening to sermons, then we will start quenching the work of the Spirit. The Spirit uses the words of the Bible to help us grow in our love for the Lord. That’s why Paul also reminds us to not despise prophecies. This means we can’t put the Bible aside thinking that it isn’t very important. Don’t think that it doesn’t really matter if we don’t pay attention when the Bible is read or taught. The Bible and being taught about God are very important. These times should be precious to us. We should enjoy learning about the Lord. We must love the Lord from our hearts. Sanctification is God’s work to do in us, but it is our work to respond to Him, abide in Him, and walk with Him. We surrender to God, yielding to the Holy Spirit, becoming sanctified. God doesn’t just want a part of us. He desires to have all of us. He will not stop transforming us until there is nothing that has not conformed to his image. It is progressive. As long as we live in this age in our flesh we are called to grow more and more loving, and we are to be transformed as we present ourselves to God.  In a world where trouble and chaos seems to be the order of the day, a world where one change after another of uncertainties are taking place, our God declares to us that He is faithful. Faithful is God's Character. That is who He is. It is the Lord our God who calls and draws us unto salvation. It is the Lord our God who will fulfill His call in our lives by daily making us holy and acceptable to Him, guarding, watching and protecting us as His own by means of our obedience to His written Words in His Bible and His Holy Spirit!!!

Father thank You for this day and the breathe of Your Word. Lord let Your abundant blessings rain down from the floodgates of heaven upon my friend and family today. Lord we ask for wisdom and discernment, more than just human wisdom and discernment, we pray for the ability to discern Your truth by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Lord we want to follow only Your Will not our own or anyone else's. Lord help us to hold on to what is good and reject what is harmful. Lord use my friend to be someone’s blessing today. Daddy we love you amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !!
