God Or Man? In Whom Do You Rely?

Psalms‬ 59:17

“You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.”

Psalms‬ 59:17‬ NIV‬‬

So many things in our lives can be stolen away by natural disasters, aging, and death. Satan could be appropriately called the toothless thief of always nothing. But God is immovable and unshakable. We can invest ourselves in Him and know our spirits are secure in His care. He is a fortress and a refuge.

Relying on someone or something is something that every one of us does all the time. We rely upon our boss to give us our paycheck in a timely matter, we rely on others to stay on their own side of the road when driving, we rely on our vehicle to work, we rely upon the electricity company to provide the needed electricity and the list goes on forever. Many people will also rely only upon their selves.

With all of these things or people that we rely on there is one problem, they can let us down. Equipment fails, people do not always do what they are supposed to do, or greater problems occur, preventing something from happening. God is always there for every believer. He is a fortress that has walls thick enough and high enough that no enemy can break through.

The only things that God allows through the walls of that fortress is what is best for the believer. Everything else is blocked. This can give amazing strength to us. We now have the ability to overcome every attack of the enemy, when God is our fortress. Standing behind the walls of God’s fortress provides a protection that no one or anything on this earth can provide.

We may be strong in our bodies from exercise and hard work and that is good, but true lasting strength is found only in God. Faith and trust in God keep us strong and within His walls of protection. Let us praise God for the fortress of strength that He has given us. As we step into God’s fortress. Be filled with His Holy Spirit and know that you have His protection upon you at all times, in every situation.

There is no enemy strong enough to get to you without God’s permission. As you see His strength and power in your life, sing praises to Him. Give Him praise for protecting you and being your strong tower of protection!!!

Father thank You for this day and for the life we find in Your Word that so often comforts our souls in difficult times and refreshes our hearts in distressing circumstances. Lord pour out Your abundant blessings over my friend and family today from Your floodgates. Lord help us not to focus on life's external problems nor the internal doubts that can enter our minds and cause us to fear. Lord bring to mind Your precious promises of refreshment and supply, and to cast all our burdens on You. Lord use my friend to be a living epistle of Your Word to all today. Be a blessing.

Father, we love You. Amen !
