Gracious grace

Isaiah‬ ‭30‬:‭18

“Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭30‬:‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God is slow to exercise His justice when that justice demands His  people's punishment. "Gracious and slow to anger" is a phrase repeatedly used to describe God in the Old Testament. God longs to be gracious and bless His people. He extends time for us to repent and turn to Him. In Jesus, God even gives us His own Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Let's hear the heart of God, and respond by turning our lives and our hearts to the God who longs for us. Would you just let those words soak into your heart right now? The Lord, we’re talking about the God of the universe, the Sovereign King over all creation. He waits to be gracious to us. In other words, He wants to pour out His grace on us. He delights in pouring out His grace on us. He anticipates it, and He exalts Himself to show mercy to us. Everything He does ultimately glorifies Himself because He alone is worthy of all glory. The beauty of Isaiah 30:18 is that God glorifies himself, he exalts himself by showing mercy to you. God glorifies Himself by pouring out His mercy on us.  I do not know what’s going on in your life right now, but I hope that you will be encouraged, that right now the God of the universe waits to be gracious to you and desires to exalt himself by showing mercy to you today. I just want you to think about your need for God’s mercy today. Think about your need for His grace in all kinds of areas in your life and realize that He is generous with grace. He is generous with mercy, and He wants to glorify Himself today by giving you all the grace and mercy you need as you look to Him and His hand for it. As those who have been saved by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ, how easy it is for us to be critical of Israel's ongoing rebellion and apostasy. How quick we can be to condemn God's chosen people for rejecting the Lord's gracious message, shunning His many messengers, refusing to believe His Holy Word, and failing to translate their special, covenant relationship with Him into personal repentance, trusting obedience, abiding rest, quiet confidence, and a secure faith in the gospel of God. But too often, we Christians can also find ourselves trusting in the world's answers, straying from the path of peace, and depending on our own resources. We too can drink the brackish waters from this world's broken cisterns. We too can trust in man governments, place our hope in a hero, leave our first Love, and wander far from the Lord Who bought us with His own precious blood.

Let us seek to learn lessons from Israel's failure, so that we will not make the same mistakes by hardening our own hearts to His gentle voice and gracious promptings. And let us thank God that His grace towards His covenant people will continue... until Jesus comes to set up His eternal kingdom on earth in the land promised to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Israel - for He longs to be gracious to all His children and waits on high to have compassion on us all. For the LORD is a God of justice. How blessed are all those who long for Him!!!

Father thank You for this day and that You are our God and Saviour. Lord let the storehouses of Your abundant blessings fall on my friend and family today. Lord thank You for the grace You have shown to is and to all who trust in You for salvation. Lord we pray for Your people, that many would repent and turn to You by trusting in Your shed blood for the forgiveness of sins and life everlasting to Whom be all honour and glory, forever and ever. Lord use my friend to be a bold witness of Your mercy and grace to all today. Daddy we love You amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !!
