Firmly Secured & Anchored In Christ

Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭19‬-‭20‬

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The author of Hebrews here refers to an anchor for our soul, one that is firm and secure, it will not drag even during the most violent storms of life. This anchor is hope. Not a wishful hope, but an earnest expectation. It is an assurance that regardless what might happen to us here, God has prepared something much better for us and will see us through to it. No matter how much the world around us may change, no matter how much relationships may change, and no matter how our own economic or social condition changes, one thing never does.

We have this hope as an anchor for our soul, preventing us from being swept along with the torrent. The blessed promises of God that flood the pages of Scripture, stand securely on the unchangeable Word of God and perfect will of the Father. They were established in the eternal council chambers of the Godhead, and the Lord Himself confirmed His immutable Word by His own, fixed oath rendering His will, His Word, and His council, as utterly dependable and established forever.

Our hope in Christ is securely anchored to the Word of God, which contains His will and His purposes so that we are not tossed about by every wind of uncertainty, nor destabilised by the stormy trials of life. We have a blessed hope that is laid up for us in heaven. Christ, Who is our life, is seated on the right hand of the Majesty on high and we are positioned in Christ and kept secure in the presence of almighty God, for all who are in Christ are identified with Him and are seated together with Him in heavenly places.

By virtue of our redeemed status in Him, we have been permitted to enter into the inner holy place, behind the curtain. Our hope is in the Lord our God Whose Word can never be broken nor altered for to do so would be contrary to His Nature and would contradict His Will. The Bible is God’s established and unalterable Word. It is His gracious assurance to those who are His own blood-bought children and heirs of the promise and our blessed hope in Christ is the immovable mainstay of our soul.

As believers we have an anchor that is steadfast and secure, it is hope. This hope is placed upon Jesus Christ himself. This is because this hope rests on God’s promise to Abraham and the oath taken that this promise would come to pass. This acts as an anchor for our soul keeping our hearts at rest so they cannot be tossed about or dislodged from a place of peace.

This hope ushers us into the very presence of God, behind the veil and into the Holy of Holies. The hope we have is a sure and steadfast anchor to our soul and it is a hope that is eternally secure for all who are in Christ our Kinsman-Redeemer and heavenly Advocate!!!

Father, thank You for this day and for the  wonderful reassurances of our security in Christ which You have graciously poured out upon us in such super-abundance and which You have confirmed throughout Your Holy Word, by many precious promises. Lord open the floodgates of heaven and pour out Your abundant blessings upon my friend and family today. Lord we praise You for Your boundless grace and unchangeable character and we bless You that You are our perfect heavenly representative, Who has gained for us eternal access into Your Holy presence, through the willing sacrifice of Yourself upon the Cross of Calvary. Lord we bless Your holy name. Be a blessing.

Father, we love You. Amen!
