Hebrews 1:8-12
“But about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” He also says, “In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.””
Hebrews 1:8-12 NIV
Jesus Christ is God's full and final revelation to man, and Hebrews lays enormous emphasis on the superiority of Christ in every aspect of His being. His throne has been established in heavenly places, and righteousness and truth is the foundation upon which His everlasting kingdom of grace will stand. He is proclaimed to be the eternal Creator, and great emphasis is laid on His sovereign Deity, while His supreme rulership and unsurpassed authority is vehemently proclaimed to transcend all thrones, dominions, powers, and angelic beings, and every name that is named in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. But God's redemption plan was extended to humanity alone, and not to angels. God's plan of salvation was only offered to the fallen race of mankind, and God Himself in the Person of Jesus Christ became our Kinsman-Redeemer so that we might be redeemed through His precious blood. Knowing destruction is the fate of the world, the question becomes what will remain after it is burned up? The first obvious answer is Jesus. He will remain. He is eternal, immortal and His rule will never end. He will not and cannot change. The Bible teaches us that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8). The book of Revelation, which is a revelation of Jesus, says this about Him, "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty" (Revelation 1:8). His years will never come to an end. He will reign in glory eternally. In contrast to the angels is the Son. He has a throne that will never end. and He has a position that is above any others. The Son is eternal and sovereign, unlike the angels. These scriptures contrasts the creator with the creation. The earth and the heaven are the work of the Lord’s hands. He created, in the beginning. This reflects back to the opening verses of Genesis. But the creation is temporary. It came into existence and it will go out of existence. When the time is right, the creator will bring this creation to an end. Jesus Christ is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and through Him all the families of the earth are blessed!!!
Father thank You for this day and the beauty of creation you have given us in it. Lord let Your abundant blessings flow over my friend and family today. Father how can it be that You would love the fallen race of rebellious man so much that You sent Your only begotten Son to be made sin for us so that in Him, we might be made the righteousness of God. Father we praise You that the sceptre of righteousness is in His hand and that one day He will set up His everlasting kingdom of righteousness. Lord use my friend to love others today as You love them. Daddy we love you amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !!
