Boast in the Lord

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭17‬-‭18

“But, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭17‬-‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

These scriptures tells us what is truly valuable and worthwhile, what’s worth boasting about. It is not human wisdom, or strength, or earthly riches, or any of the things these agitators took pride in. If we boast, we boast in the Lord, which means that we give Him the praise rightly due Him. Boasting about talent, wealth, power, wisdom, eloquence, and the like have no place among believers. The only thing worth boasting about is one’s knowledge of the Lord. We live in a world with skewed values, false promises and fleeting fame. What can we boast in other than the steadfastness of the Lord's love, the incredible riches of the Lord's grace, the incomparable supply of the Lord's blessings, the sweetness of the Lord's people, the mercy of the Lord's plan for our salvation. Whenever anybody boasts, Paul says, it is to be in what the Lord has done. How that wipes out with one stroke all the proud evaluations. Paul always recognizes that the only thing that counts is what Christ does in him, not what he does for Christ. Our boast, joy, and delight is in the Lord, not ourselves. We are just amazed that God can do anything with us or anything through us. Let our boast merely be in the work of the Lord. The approved are not those who commend themselves. The approved are those who are commended by God. All that matters is God’s glory. I do not want glory. I want God glorified. If God is glorified through me, then I recognize that it is not because of me because that is how great God is. Therefore, instead of praising ourselves, we should strive to approve ourselves to God. In a word, let us glory in the Lord our salvation, and in all other things only as evidences of His love, or means of promoting His glory. Instead of praising ourselves, or seeking the praise of men, let us desire that honour which cometh from God only. Eternity is boasting in the Lord. Let the one who boasts only boast in the Lord. It is not about me and it is not about you. It is all about God!!!

Father thank You for this day and that in the Body of Christ there is no competition. Lord open the floodgates of heaven and pour out Your abundant blessings over my friend and family today. Lord You have given a special ministry of reconciliation and each one is responsible to use our gifts to fulfill that ministry. Lord grant to us therefore, that we will not be filled with jealousy and envy toward each other, but be content to labor at what You have given us to do, knowing that the fruit and the harvest will be of Your making and not ours. Lord we thank You for this inestimable privilege of being called to be co-laborers together with God. Lord use my friend to be the light of Your love to all today. Daddy we love You amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !
