Be Seasoned Grace

Colossians‬ 4:5-6

“Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Colossians‬ 4:5-6‬ NIV‬‬

Wow, what an exhortation! To govern, to guide our interactions today and every day with people who don’t know Jesus. Those are outsiders, those who are outside the faith. So just think about the people in your sphere of influence, some that you know maybe closely.

Family members, close friends or coworkers you spend a lot of time with or neighbors. Then just think about people you’ll interact with today that you don’t even know… Maybe total strangers who may be outside the faith.

Jesus warned us that we would have to answer to God for every idle word we share with others. In our time when social media echoes with mean-spirited, ugly, and divisive words, we must hear the Lord's warning about choosing our words carefully.

These verses challenge us to be even more vigilant about what we say and how we say it. They emphasize how significant our influence is on those who don't know Christ. We want to seize every opportunity to open the hearts of unbelievers to Jesus. When we are around those who are not believers of Christ and fellow believers as well, we must show kindness, demonstrate care, and exercise control in the way we use our speech.

The eternal destiny of those around may be resting on our conversations with them. People are watching, they sit back and observe. If our lives consistently reflects Christ and what we believe, it will win the opportunity to speak truth when the time is right. This is why, we are to always be prepared, behaving wisely in our relationships and seizing opportunities as they arise.

Our behavior should not be compromised when walking in the company of others, in our everyday lives and our desire and delight should be to share the good news of the gospel of grace, with all who cross our path but it should be done with clarity and. simplicity.

As believers we are called to conduct ourselves in Godly wisdom, which is given us from above and to behave in a manner that is fitting for a child of God. So that it will win us the right to share the good news of the gospel of Christ Jesus.

Let's season our speech with care. Let's take advantage of every opportunity we have to open the hearts of others to the grace of Jesus!!!

Father thank You for this day and Your life changing Word. Lord let Your abundant blessings flow like rain over friend and family today. Lord help us to conduct ourselves as is most expedient, with all wisdom and grace in our everyday life. Lord help us as we seek to display a winsome attitude with all people, but especially toward those who do not yet know You as their Lord and Savior. Lord use our lives and our words to open people's hearts to You. Lord help my friend and I to make the most of our opportunities to share about Jesus to those who have not yet heard of His gracious salvation. Be a blessing.

Father, we love You. Amen !
