Answered Prayer

1 John 3:21-23

“Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us “

1 John 3:21-23, NIV

The Bible says God has laid our five conditions to answered prayer: we have an honest relationship with Him, we harbor no unforgiveness toward anyone, we're willing to share the results with other people, we ask Him in faith, and we pray in Jesus’ name.

Have we been overlooking any of these conditions? Maybe we've been holding a grudge. Maybe we've been nursing resentment and we've allowed bitterness to build up in our life. Maybe we've been refusing to admit some wrong in our life. We have known it was there, but we haven't wanted to go to Him and say: "You're right, God; that's wrong. I admit it."

Maybe we've prayed, but we've never really expected God to answer. If we don't expect God to answer, we're just wasting our time. Or maybe we haven't been abiding in God's Word and growing in faith. Maybe we haven't been willing to share God's blessings with other people.

We've been hesitant to give back to God a percentage of all the things He has blessed us with. When our heart is lined up with the Word of God and aligned to the will of God, we will indeed receive what we ask, because our petition will be a correct and godly request that is pleasing in His sight.

Being aligned to the Word and the will of God ensures that we who are walking in spirit and truth will pray as led by the Holy Spirit, and our prayer will indeed be answered!!

Father, thank You for this day, and thank You for the privilege of prayer, and that through Christ we have access to the throne of grace. Lord, let Your abundant blessings flow like a mighty river over us and our family today. Lord, thank You that You hear and answer the prayers and intercessions of Your children that are aligned to Your will and the Word of truth Lord, we pray that the thoughts and the petition of our hearts may remain in accordance with Your perfect purpose and plan, and we pray that You would guide us into all truth so that our life may be pleasing in Your sight. Lord, use us to be a bold witness of Your mercy and grace to those who need it today.

Father, we love You. Amen.
