All Things

Romans 8:28

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Romans 8:28 NIV

This verse is challenging us to look at life from a larger perspective. Don't look at what is seen, look at what is unseen. Don't look at what is temporary, look at what is eternal. Live in the purpose that God has given us.

God is a good God, and He has good plans for our lives. Other's have bad plans for our lives, and we may make some bad plans ourselves, but God only has good plans for our lives.

Not everything in our lives may be good, God didn't promise that. He didn't say everything that happens

in our lives would be good. Friend, we live on a broken planet. Nothing works perfectly.

Our lives are broken. It doesn’t always work the right way. Our mind is broken. It doesn't think the right way. The weather is broken, the economy's broken, relationships are broken. Nothing is perfect.

God did not promise us perfection, because the earth is filled with brokenness. But even in the middle of all this brokenness, God has a good plan for our lives. He is greater than our bad choices, and He can fit even foolish decisions into a good plan.

What a God. He can turn crucifixions into resurrections. This is not a promise for everybody in the world. Not everything is working together for good for everybody.

But everything is working together for good for those who say, God, I give you my life. We want you to fulfill the purpose You made for us and even then, it doesn’t say all things are good. It says they all work together for our good, even the bad and even the bitter.

Have you noticed that when you make a cake, the individual ingredients don't taste good? Flour by itself does not taste good. Raw eggs do not taste good. Vanilla by itself does not taste good. But mix it all together, and you can create a tasty masterpiece.

When we let God work all the ingredients together, God can take the bitter, put it in the batter, and make us better. Why? Because He is God.

The more we pray & read & study His Word the better we're going to know our purpose. And the better we know our purpose, the more God can use everything in our lives even the bitter and broken things.

Yet in all these things, we have an incredible promise. If we love God and are seeking to honor His call in our lives, our Father in heaven will work out all of the things going on in our life for our good!!! GLORY!!!

Father thank You for this day and for waking us up and setting us on our way. Lord open the windows of heaven and shine down Your abundant blessings upon my friend and family today. Lord thank You that we have been called according to Your plan and purpose. Lord thank You that in You there is no condemnation and no separation from You, for we are one with You, by grace through faith in His finished work at Calvary. Lord thank You, that You are causing all things to work together to finally achieve Your great redemptive plan and purpose for mankind. Lord use my friend to share Your saving grace with all he meets today.

Father we love You amen !
