Romans 3:22-24
“This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.“
Romans 3:22-24 NIV
We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned, we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight.
It’s true, we’ve all sinned. We’ve all fallen short in many ways, and this is important to recognize, but this is only the partial truth. The main emphasis of this thought bookends this verse.
When you read these verses and realize what they mean, that we have all, you and I, have all sinned against God. We’ve rebelled against God. We deserve eternal separation from God. Yet, we can be justified before God. Declared innocent before God. Forgiven of all our sins. How’s that possible? By his grace as a gift.
So, this is a gift God gives us by his grace. He makes it possible for us to be forgiven of all of our sins. How’s that possible? Through the redemption that’s in Christ Jesus.
Here’s the important truth to fully understand. The righteousness we need, comes from God through faith in Jesus. This is possible because He freely justifies us through the redemption provided in Christ.
Paul through God’s Holy inspiration starts to explain how the righteousness of God is able to be attained by man but the only way that man can attain to righteousness is to be declared righteous by God.
To be imputed with God's own perfect righteousness. But His righteousness is only given by grace through faith in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of sins and life everlasting. The righteousness of God is revealed in our justification by grace through faith in Christ and there is no other way.
Paul wants to make it crystal clear that apart from the unattainable righteousness of the Law, the righteousness of God is attainable to all but it is only obtained through faith in Jesus.
It makes no difference if one is Jewish or Gentile, male or female, black or white, old or young the righteousness of God is freely available to all through faith in Christ's finished work at Calvary.
Today, if you haven’t experienced the saving power of Jesus in your life, you can. You simply have to ask Jesus to be the Lord of your life. He will come in and save you, cleanse you and make you like new. Then you simply live out of your new nature in Him. You’ll want to spend time talking to God and getting to know Him on a deeper level.
Knowing Him is the best thing that God offers. When you know Jesus, and love Him, your life has meaning and purpose. So today, choose to live for Him in everything you do!!!
