KNOW!!!

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭7‬:‭9‬

“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.”

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭7‬:‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When we are exhorted in Scripture to know something, we should make sure that this is something that we really and truly know in our heart and soul and mind and strength and spirit.

We are to know without a shadow of turning that the eternal Creator of heaven and earth Who has locked Himself into an everlasting convent with humanity, is our Lord and God and that He is faithful and true in all that He says and in all that He has promised.

We are to know without question or query that God Who has adopted us as children, has made us accepted in the Beloved. He has sealed us with His Holy Spirit, come to dwell within our mortal bodies, and has also given us an everlasting assurance that in His sight we are saved, sanctified, glorified, and have already been given eternal life.

What does it mean that God is faithful? It means that when He makes a promise that He will keep that promise. It means that He is the same God yesterday, today and tomorrow. It means that we can rely on Him through every season.

So much in life changes. Our jobs change. Our bodies change. Our plans change. Our homes change. Our relationships change. Change is everywhere in our lives. Is anything constant? God is the one constant that we can depend on. His character and promises will never change.

What does God promise us? He promises us forgiveness in Jesus. He promises us eternal life and a heavenly home. He promises to love us as his children. He promises to be with us always. He promises he will never leave us or forsake us. These promises will come true, because God is faithful.

Moses calls the people of God to know God is faithful. Knowing God is faithful means believing and being confident. We trust God and believe He is a God of His Word.  All that is asked of us is to trust Him as Savior and hand everything over to Him so that in His power, strength, and love, He can work in us and through us, as He slowly yet surely conforms us into the likeness of His Son, to the praise of His Holy Name.

God is faithful and His covenant is a covenant of love. He will not forsake us and will treat us better than we deserve just as a loving parent treats a rebellious child better than they deserve.

But our hearts must be tuned to honor God as God, not as just a good luck charm or a weekly guest into our otherwise busy lives. What we do must be done in awareness that it is done before and for him!!!

Father thank You for this day and strength to walk into today. Lord open storehouses of heaven and pour out Your abundant blessings over my friend and family today. Lord You are indeed a wonderful covenant-keeping God, and we want to know and love You more and more each day. Lord we praise Your name for Your faithful promises in Your Word of Truth. Lord use my friend to be someone’s blessing today.

Father, we love You. Amen !
