Unshakable Refuge

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46‬:‭1

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Life can be really tough at times. People let you down, situations let you down. You experience heartache, disappointment and all these difficult things can sometimes make you want to give up on God. When you experience these times do you do? Where do you go? Who do you lean on?

The answers to these questions show you what your life is built upon. If you drown your sorrows in ice cream,Netflix or worse, then you know that there is where you go to get help. God would like to be your help when things get hard.

The Bible tells us that He is our refuge and strength. He wants to be where you go when things are tough. When you don’t know how you’re going work it out , He wants to be your source of wisdom. When things aren’t going the way you expected, He wants to be the one you turn to. God wants to be your help when things get tough.

He promises to be our refuge and our source of strength in our time of need. The good news is that His strength is greater than any hardship or obstacle, no matter how intense or intimidating that difficulty may seem. He either makes a way out, a way through, or holds us close until the storm is over.

Our God is a strong shelter and a rock of refuge in Whom we can hide during the storms and difficulties of life. He is our tower of strength, our firm fortress, and our secure stronghold to Whom we can run for protection and safety in an increasingly Christ-rejecting, God-denying, anti-Semitic, and anti-Christian world.

It’s up to you though, to decide to let Him have that place in your life. You can choose to go to friends, Netflix and ice cream or the vices of life when things are tough. But when all that continues to fail God is still there waiting.

But no matter how the nations rage and war against the Lord and His children, we have His unfailing assurance that the Lord of hosts is with us and will never leave us nor forsake us. The God of Jacob is our rock of refuge, our safe stronghold, and our ever present help in time of trouble.

As His children we are called to: "Fear not," for Christ has won the final victory, and we are assured that His triumph is credited to us as well.

The shelter that He affords is not to indulge or pamper us but to reassure us, strengthen us, and enable us to stand fast in the evil day. And as Paul tells us in Ephesians: "And having done all to stand," as the spiritual battle between our righteous God and Satan's wicked forces continues to rage throughout the godless nations of the world.

Where can we go when all the walls fall and all the armies crumble and all hope is lost? To the eternal God, who is our Father. He preserved Israel through the most difficult of times, protected the Bible from those who would eradicate it, and has led his Church through troubles and triumphs through the centuries. He will do the same with us until he brings us home to himself.

Let us be still and KNOW that God is our refuge, our strength, and our ever-present help in time of need!!!

Father thank You for this day and how we praise You for Your Word and the truths within its pages. Lord pour out Your abundant blessings from the floodgates of heaven over my friend and family today. Lord thank You that You are our ever-present Rock of refuge and our never-failing strength and stronghold. Lord equip us we pray, to stand fast in the evil day and to trust in Your Word, though the earth be moved and though the mountains be thrown into the midst of the sea. Lord is my friend to be the touch of Your love today to those in need of it. Be a blessing. Love ya

Father,  we love You amen.!
