Testify

  Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭15‬-‭17‬

“The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says: “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.””

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The Holy Spirit does so many things in our lives but one of His most important roles is to testify and confirm the New Covenant to us. It is His job to reassure and remind us of what was promised. The Covenant we enjoy is vastly superior to the old one and was extremely costly for God to bring it to pass. Therefore He has made it the job of the Holy Spirit to constantly remind believers of the amazing things that are included. It was the Holy Spirit Who caused the prophet Jeremiah to write of the New Covenant, which God promised to make with Israel, His chosen, and earthly people. And it is the Holy Spirit Who also caused the writer to the Hebrews to reiterate that same, precious promise to Israel, and to build upon its truth, when he wrote: and the Holy Spirit also testifies:- “this is the covenant that I will make with them after those days. I will put My laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more. God is not only faithful to keep the wonderful promise that He made to unfaithful Israel, through the prophet Jeremiah but Hecadds in the letter to the Hebrews: “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more,' for where there is the remission of sins, there is no longer any offering to be made for those sins for it is finished. Christ paid the full price for all sin on Calvary's cross and the Father accepted Christ's offering for sin and 'it is finished.' for all who have trusted in His redeeming work on the cross. It is finished, through time and into eternity. It is finished. And where there is remission of sins there is no longer any condemnation nor is there any further need for the on-going, never-ending sacrifices of the Mosaic Law which were fulfilled and completed on behalf of Israel through the cross and which were also fulfilled and completed at Calvary for our sake too. Christ died once for all on the cross, for the Jew, for the Gentile and for the Church. His redemptive work on the cross was for Israel. His offering for sin at His crucifixion was for the sin of the whole world and His death paid the price for your sin and for mine. Christ's finished work on Calvary is sufficient and secure for Israel, for the world and for the Church, and for all who trust in Christ as Saviour. Praise God that we have been released from the law of sin and death, since we have died to what held us, so that we may serve in the new way and better way. Praise God that we are not called to serve in the old letter of the law but in spirit and in truth. Praise God that the Spirit's law of life in Christ Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and of death. Praise God that in Christ our trespasses have been forgiven and that He will remember our sins no more. GLORY!!!
