Psalms‬ 92:4-5, 12-13

“For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord; I sing for joy at what your hands have done. How great are your works, Lord, how profound your thoughts! The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.”

Psalms‬ 92:4-5, 12-13‬ NIV‬‬

Gaze into the heavens on a dark night and see the wonders of the starry hosts. Think of the incredible diversity of earth's wonders. Look at your own life and see the fingerprints of God's work in your own experience. There is a deep seated joy at knowing that the LORD, Creator of the universe is at work in us and for us. No wonder singing praise is such a natural response for us. Here it is again in the 92nd Psalm. A great Psalm of encouragement for us the Christian. Look at what God says about us. We shall flourish like a palm tree, we'll grow like a cedar in Lebanon, we'll flourish in the courts of our God, and we'll still bear fruit in old age. God places a great barrier between the Christian and the non-Christian. This becomes really obvious when we ponder verses 12-13. God’s highest calling for us as a follower of Christ was never to go to some building called church. God’s highest calling is for us to be conformed to the image of Christ, not to go to church, but to be planted in the house of the Lord, to be the church, a light shining into a dark world. God calls us to be planted in the house of God, rooted in Christ and flourishing as part of the church. Our hearts just skips a beat when we think of all Christ does for us. So when we talk about the righteous flourishing, we are talking about spiritual health. Spiritual flourishing means growing more and more into Christ likeness, being a blessing, developing spiritual maturity, being rooted deeply in God’s love. The psalmist compares this kind of flourishing to a cedar or a palm tree. The wicked, however, don't have a clue. God calls them senseless in verse 6 because they just don't understand what we see in the Bible and they don't understand how much we love God. Our love for our Lord is greater than any other love we can experience on earth. Thank God for His salvation. We are no better than the non-Christians; we are not saved because God just had to save us because we were so good. It is only the grace of God that has opened our eyes to see and accept the salvation Christ has provided for us!!!

Father thank You for this day and that You constantly amaze us at Your power, love, wisdom and what You have created. Lord open the floodgates of Your abundant blessings and let them pour out over my friend and family today. Lord everything we are, is what You created, knowing us before we were born and having a plan for each of us. Lord we praise Your name, knowing that you love us, support us, guide us, provide miracles, keep Your promises, love us dearly, comfort, heal, never leave or forsake us, what a gift. Lord thank You the Holy Spirit and for being our God. Lord, today we ask for strength, direction, open doors to share Your love with all today. Daddy we love you amen. Be a blessing. Love you!
