“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”” Psalms 91:1-2 NKJV
If you know how big and scary and difficult the world is, It is no secret, these times we are living in are tumultuous times. Mankind is vicious and the weather is tempestuous. If we are not careful we will find ourselves fearful and afraid to leave the house. These are words of comfort. God is our shelter. God will cover us with his feathers spread wide, and under God’s wings we will find refuge. Reflecting on the relationship between God and ourselves, the psalmist says God will protect us in a way like that. We can find refuge under His wings. Surely God will shield and protect us. The promise is not that pain and tragedy will magically flow around us, but that ultimately nothing can separate us from the reach of our God’s arms, from His love. We live in the shelter of the Most High, we rest and find comfort in the shadow of the Almighty. We do not fear because the all-powerful God of heaven and earth is here with us, walking alongside and in front of us and behind us. These two verses are filled with Divine, Sovereign protection. As time progresses men become more savage and the weather becomes more unstable. We do not know from one minute to the next what may happen. That is why we must put our trust in our Divine, Sovereign Protector, who is able to keep us regardless of the mayhem and disaster that is taking place all around us. Let us keep our focus on Him despite everything that is happening in the world today, He is our hiding place. When you have put your faith and trust in the Lord, truly you can profoundly declare and proclaim verse 2 of these scriptures as your personal testimony, which says "I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.” We’re safe in God’s care, and he is always with us!!!
Father thank You for this day and it is wonderful to see Your plan of salvation unfolding through Scripture and to identify passages, like Psalm 91, that point us to Jesus. Lord let Your abundant blessings flow over my friend and family today. Lord we praise You that even though You are fully God, You lived Your life in total dependence on The Father, demonstrating to all Your children that we are also to live a life of faith and trust in Him as our Refuge, our Fortress and the God in Whom we trust implicitly. Lord there are many times we have failed to fly to You when faced with the overwhelming circumstances of life, but we pray that from this day forward we would live as You live in total dependence on Him. Lord use my friend to be the blessing that someone is praying for today. Daddy we love you amen. Be a blessing. Love you !
