Often we stumble and fall because we are lost in our plans, trying to go it alone. God’s truth is in the Bible, His guide for us, His word to us. God is waiting and reaching out welcoming, wanting to teach us to follow His path. When we let go of our self direction and rely on God’s foundation, His word, we find peace and live according to His truth. This truth will purify our hearts and set us free from worldly woes. David asked God to teach him His way so that he may be able to walk in God's truth and to direct his heart to reverence and submission to God alone. God has a lot to say about which path we should take in this life. There is only two paths and each of us are on one or the other by choice.
Let's look at the different paths in life we are told to take and not to take and where each one leads. Both paths are listed in the old and the new Testaments. Proverbs 4:14-17 Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not go in the way of evil men. 15 Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and pass on.16 For they do not sleep unless they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away unless they cause some to fall. 17 For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. Matthew 7:13-14 Enter at the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who are going through it,14 because small is the gate and narrow is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. We are given a choice as to which path God prefers for us to take and which path we choose to take. When we have truly given up the fight against God, He will teach us His way, He will help us walk in His way by with the leading of the Holy Spirit's guidance and He will put the desire in our hearts to reverence, worship and serve Him with our whole heart in spirit and in truth. Let our daily prayer to God the Father be that He keep our hearts united with His so that we may do that which is pleasing and acceptable in His sight. Allow God to change your heart by teaching you His ways. Have an undivided heart that is loyal to God and Him alone. Is it your desire to be taught of God and walk in His truth? If so, cry out to God in prayer and He will do just that for you!!!
Father thank You for this day and there is no one like You and we praise and worship You for Your love towards us. Lord let Your abundant blessings be my friend and family’s portion today. Lord You alone are worthy of our worship, praise, and thanksgiving, and we pray that the rest of our lives may be set aside completely for You, in willing obedience and humble devotion for Your praise and glory. Lord we hunger for Your Word, teach us the way that we should go and help us to walk in Your truth each day. Lord may Your praise always be on our lips, and may You fill our hearts with the joy of Your love and blessing. Lord use my friend to bless others today with the breathe of Your Word.
