It is not the dead who praise the Lord, those who go down to the place of silence; it is we who extol the Lord, both now and forevermore. Praise the Lord.”
Psalms 115:14-18 NIV
These verses are a simple blessing that each one of us would be greatly benefited to learn the power of. When we speak we are either building up or tearing down, planting seeds of life or speaking death. These verses are a great example of the simple act of speaking life. “May the Lord make you increase,” is such a simple and yet powerful blessing that fills the heart of the hearer with faith. It is so encompassing in its scope as it does not define the areas of increase but leaves room for a faith application in every area of our lives, increased finances, increased health, increased friendships, increase influence, increase, increase, increase. With God there is abundance and multiplication. Who can count the many blessings of God? How can His goodness toward us be measured? When love is so great that it cannot be fathomed, how can we even begin to understand how deep, how wide and how long it really is? Our God is so far above us and His wisdom so much greater than ours, how can we even know all the good He does for us every day? The obvious answer to all these questions is that we cannot count or measure God. As most of us live in our luxury with more freedoms that a vast part of the world’s population can even imagine and with many friends who encourage us to serve God, we cannot see all that God is doing for us daily. We forget that there are many who are faithfully serving God in places where they are persecuted if they are found and they have few, if any friends who even believe in Jesus as the Christ or God as the creator. Most of the people in the world exist on less than many of us throw in the garbage every day and yet we don’t even see the many blessings we have showered upon us from God.
God is so good and we praise Him for His love and His care for us. We don’t need to worry about things because we know He is in control and will take care of us and our needs. What we can do is live for him and show others Jesus as they see Him living in us. We can use His name with respect and never as a bye word or in a flippant way. We can honor Him as we stand up for what is right as revealed in His Word. We can treat Him as our God and do so with joy. Blessing others is one of the more powerful statements of trust in God personally that we can make. As an act of faith today speak blessing over others with no regard to your own personal state and your heart will grow in grace and confidence before God!!!
Father thank You for this day and we praise You as Lord and as God. Lord open the floodgates of You abundant blessings and let them fall upon my friend and family today. Lord Your wisdom and strength is beyond our ability to understand. Lord Your love is everlasting and we thank You for allowing us to be your children . Lord open our eyes to see just how blessed we really are and help us turn this realization into praise, thanksgiving and a deeper commitment to serving You. Lord use my friend to speak and be Your blessings over others today. Daddy we love you amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !
