Isaiah 25:4-5
“You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall and like the heat of the desert. You silence the uproar of foreigners; as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud, so the song of the ruthless is stilled.”
Isaiah 25:4-5 NIV
Isaiah emphasizes the fact that the Lord is a Stronghold to His people, a Refuge, a Hiding Place, and a Shelter from the storm. Each of these titles impresses upon us the fact that when we are in need of protection, God is the very One who we should be running to, for He will be what we need Him to be at the very moment of our insufficiency. Sometimes in life, it appears that the storms of the enemy against God’s people never cease to rage, and to make matters worse, the enemy of our mind attempts to convince us that we are losers and our enemies have victory over us. God is sending forth peace, rest and assurance to His people on today. We can have hope in the midst of life storms because God promises us that He has ultimately triumphed over death, sorrow, sickness, pain and suffering. Yes, one day God will wipe away all tears from our eyes. Truly, I can personally testify that God has been and is always a strength to the poor. He is a strength to the needy. He is a refuge from the stormy seas and oceans of life. In my distress and times of troubles, I have called upon the Lord, sought His presence, shelter, power and provision, and over and over again He rescued me. It may not have been in my timing, but God always shows up at a time when it is perfect, because it is always a time when we do not expect Him to. This is the beauty of rescues that causes us to praise Him and rejoice when He does. True faith simply credits the Lord's testimony, and relies on His truth to perform His promises. As God weakens the strong who are proud and secure, so He strengthens the weak that are humble, and stay themselves upon Him. God protects His people in all weathers. The Lord shelters those who trust in Him from the insolence of oppressors. Their insolence is but the noise of strangers, it is like the heat of the sun scorching in the middle of the day, but where is it when the sun is set? The Lord ever was, and ever will be, the Refuge of distressed believers. Having provided them a shelter, He teaches them to flee unto it. We must seek the power of the one who is in control and trust Him because of His unchanging nature and purpose. On this account, our poverty is our access to Him. It is only in our neediness of help that God finds the means to exercise His kindness. Blessed are poor in spirit because the kingdom of heaven belongs to them. Every crisis reveals where any person’s faith is. When something threatens our peace which place do we turn to? The chicks quickly hide under the mother hen when a hawk appears. They know what to do. In the same way, we all must run to the refuge of God when our safety is threatened. Let us run to God’s shelter today!!!

Lord open the windows of heaven and let Your abundant blessings rain down on my friend and family today. Lord You are the One that we can always count on. Lord knowing that You are our Stronghold, our Hiding Place, and our Refuge fills our hearts with peace and comfort. Lord You are our Savior, our Constant Companion, our Protector, and our Friend. Lord open my friend and I mouths so that we can sing your praises and use our words to bring others peace in their storm today. Daddy we love You amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !!
