Make A Joyful Noise

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭100‬:‭1‬-‭3

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.“

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭100‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

As members of the fallen human race, there are certain things that we all need to know. We need to know that the Lord Himself is the One and Only Sovereign God and Supreme Ruler of all.

We should know that He is the great Creator of the universe and everyone in it, and that He is the One Who formed and fashioned us in the beginning. It was God who created us and not we ourselves.

I realized my place as one of His sheep, His child, under His guidance and care. This psalm is a call for the whole world to worship and serve God because of who He is our great Creator God. He deserves all worship for He alone is God. He calls us to joyful and glad-hearted service.

Right out of the gate, the psalmist calls for a joyful noise to be made unto God. The psalmist's call is not merely a small tribe or group of people, but has the earth in view. No one is excluded. Not only is there a global call, but the psalmist qualifies this call by using the word joyful. The sort of noise we make matters. It's not one of sadness but one of joy. The word used here refers to a glad shout made in the presence of a king.

The whole earth has a singular Almighty King who's not only worthy but also good to His people. He's no tyrant, but rather a joyful Ruler who invites us into His joy. Here the earth is called to serve the Lord with gladness. Again, the way we do something matters.

God is not after heartless obedience, but is after hearts and lives who delights in Him. The Lord has no regard for outward forms of worship if there is no inward adoration, if no devout affection be employed therein. Not only are we to serve Him, but also sing to Him. Our glad service plays into our singing, and our singing plays into our glad service.

No part of life is divorced from this worship of God. He is worthy. In response to God and who we are in Him, how could we not make a joyful noise? How could we not serve Him with gladness or come into His presence with singing?

In Christ is all the fullness of God, and as His people we should know that we are being built up into a Heavenly Temple. In the ages to come, the surpassing riches of His grace in His kindness toward us, the Church, will be made known to the angelic rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.

He is the One Who died and rose again so that by faith in Him we might live in newness of life. The duty and responsibility of all is to know God and to know Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son. We are to glorify Him forever, and to tell the glories of His holy name, to all.

Remember, no other recipe is acceptable for true praise and worship to the Father than what has been written in His Word.

Let us shout GLORY!!!!

Father, thank you for this day and for the song of joy in our hearts. Lord, let Your abundant blessings flow mightily over my friend and family today. We are truly thankful that you are God. Lord, thank You for being our Shepherd, our Father, and our Savior. Empower us as we seek to display Your character and kindness to those around us. Lord, help us rejoice in You no matter what we face in life. Lord, use us to shine forth a life of grateful praise so others will see You and praise You today.

Father, we love You. Amen !
