1 Corinthians 2:9-10
“However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him— these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 NIV
There’s another way to look at our lives. That’s through the lens of how God thinks and through the ways of God and the desires of God. We want to look at the world through the lens of God’s wisdom because, and that’s where verse nine says “It’s written what no eye has seen nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.”
In other words, when you are deciding between living according to the wisdom of this world and living according to the wisdom of God, just know the wisdom of God is higher, greater, more wonderful than anything your eye has seen or your ear has heard or your heart has even imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.
God speaks to us for reasons that are purely His own: He loves us and desires to have a relationship with us. He desires to walk and talk with each of us, just as He did with Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden.
He loves us and wants us to love Him in return. He gives to us and desires that we give back to Him. He shields and protects us from evil and desires that we trust Him. He provides all that we need and desires that we rely on Him as the source of our total supply.
He’s our Father, and we’re His children and He desires that our relationship with Him be joyful, loving, and fulfilling. Very specifically, God desires in His love that we might comprehend His truth about who He is, who we are, and the relationship He desires to have with us.
He wants us to be conformed to His truth, applying that truth to our lives in ways that transform us ever more closely into the image of His Son. And He longs to communicate His truth to others.
God has given to all believers a divine person, the Holy Spirit, who lives within us to help us receive and understand His truth. The Holy Spirit knows perfectly the mind of God, and He communicates to our spirits the truth God wants us to hear. (1 Cor. 2:12).
It’s not enough that we comprehend the truth. We must be conformed to the truth. As we read and hear God’s Word, we come face-to-face with ourselves, our deficiencies, our errors, and our faults. We say again and again, “I’m not like Jesus, but I want to be.” In these moments, we know God’s truly speaking to us because He always calls us to become more and more like His Son. (Rom. 12:2).
God desires that we communicate His truth to others. He doesn’t give us His truth, impart blessings, or love us so that we might hoard these but so that we might share and extend His love, truth, and blessings to others and, in so doing, draw them closer to the Lord. (Matt. 28:19).
God desires to speak to you in order to show you what He’s like, and He wants to reveal Himself to you. He knows the more you see Him for who He is in His fullness, as your loving Father and Creator who desires only the best for you, the more you’re going to want to be with Him.
The more you’re with Him, the more you’re going to want to become like Him. The more you become like Him, the greater your witness in the world. The greater your witness, the more others will begin to hear His voice and the more enriching and loving your relationships will become.
We have a blessed hope in Christ, and God in His grace chose to give incredible detail about His message of redemption through His written Word of truth. We should be wary of trying to delve into our own, limited imagination or those of our fellow man in an attempt to discover elements of our future, which God in His wisdom has chosen to keep as a mystery. As it is written by Isaiah: "Since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what He hath prepared for him that keep on waiting for Him." And this is confirmed by Paul in his letter to the Corinthians: "Eye hath not seen, and ear has not heard, neither has entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him!!!”
Father thank You for this day and for preparing a place of glory for us with You. Lord we believe it is far greater than anything we could ever imagine, but we do ask the Spirit to give us glimpses of this glorious future with You. Thank you, Jesus, for returning to heaven to prepare a place for us with You in glory. Thank You that our blessed hope is in Christ, and the wonders of our eternal future are hidden in Him. To Him be all praise and glory. Be a blessing. Love ya
Father, we love You. Amen
