Held In The Lord’s Hands

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭23‬-‭24

“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.“

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭NIV‬‬

On the road of life, a believer’s pathway is established or ordered by the Lord. The emphasis here is on the fact that it is the steps of a good man (believer) that are ordered by God.

If we will keep intentional intimacy with God, confessing and repenting as soon as we stumble and stay surrendered to His will pop over our lives, then His guarantee is that He promises to order our path, watch our steps, and keep us from danger.

Our job is not to figure out where our lives need to go, what direction we should be walking in, what goal or opportunity we need to pursue or let go of. Our job is to be delighting in our God, in the goodness that is His everlasting love and care for us.

Knowing what steps to take in our lives is the fruit of our delight in Him, as we remain open and connected to His voice, then we will never feel abandoned or forgotten, even when we make mistakes or act before He asks us to.

As we navigate life's journey, aligning our steps with His way brings not only divine direction but also a sense of fulfillment and joy.

Understanding that God delights in our way encourages us to pursue righteousness and godliness. Our actions and choices matter to God, and living in alignment with His principles brings joy to our Creator.

When we stumble, these verses remind us to trust in God's sustaining hand. It's a call to lean on His grace, acknowledging our dependence on Him and finding comfort in His unwavering support.

God gives His people both provision and protection, and though to the casual eye this may not always seem to reflect the bitter circumstances of life through which many Christians have to pass today, God's provision and protection is established in the eternal realms.

However, it is also true to say that although this heavenly provision and protection is eternally secure for all God's people, many stand witness to His miraculous hand at work in the everyday challenges and difficulties of life, through which we all have to pass.

Many times in life we want to get God’s leading and direction for our lives. We hope that God will appear in a giant cloud or send an angel to tell us the next thing we are to do. Often, we expect that thing to be a big leap into the future. And while God can at times lead us this way, many times God leads us through smaller things.

God is directing the small things in life. He shows us one small thing to do, then another, followed by another. All those steps together add up to something really great God has for us to do.

Most of the people who did great things for God did it in small steps and stages. In the Bible, David killed the lion and the bear before defeating the giant.

This shows us that it is often the small choices and the small steps me make each day that end up making a big difference in the course of our lives.

So today remember to act on the small things that God is putting on your heart to do. Those small things often end up setting you up for big things later in life.

We read that the steps of a man are established by the Lord, and the word established means that they are ordered, secured, and fixed by our Father in heaven. Nothing on the earth below nor in the heavens above can cause the steps of those that have been made righteous through Jesus Christ to stray so far or to fall so heavily, that God in His grace will not reach down and to pick us up.

The Lord establishes our steps is because He loves His children and is pleased to be our Provider, our Protector, and our Establisher, not only in this life but in the eternal realms to come, which are reserved for us in heaven.

How blessed we are to have a God Who delights in our way, Who is intimately involved in every detail of our life and Who upholds us with His righteous right hand. No wonder this Psalm begins with the words "do not fret," but let us, like David, rest in the safe arms of the Protector of our soul, the Establisher of our steps!!!

Father thank You for this day and that our steps are ordered by You and that You take delight in establishing the way we should go, and are able keep us from falling. Lord pour our Your abundant blessing upon my friend and family today. Lord help us to abound in You in all things. Lord help us let go of our will and take hold of Yours as we take each step today. Lord use my friend to be someone’s blessing today.

Father we love you amen. Love ya !
