God is near.

 Psalms‬ ‭145:17-18

“The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭145:17-18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Many times in scripture, God promises to be near to His people, to all who call on Him. Even when you feel like He can’t hear you, you can rest assured that the Lord is near to all those who call upon Him. Each one of us has days where it feels as though God is far away, or like He can’t hear us. It’s what we do when we feel that way that matters. We know if He says it, it is true. The Lord rules over all of creation with majesty and power. His laws govern the whole universe, all of nature, every nation, and all the affairs of men. He rules over the seas, the planets, the heavenly bodies and all their movements. We are also told that God is the righteous King who judges by his law. His Word is His constitution, containing all of His legal decrees, by which He rules justly. Everything in existence is judged by His immutable Word, including us. Simply put, we can hold the Bible in our hands and know, It tells us who God is. It describes His attributes, nature, promises and judgments. It is His rule of law, from His own mouth, by which He rules and reigns. What a mighty God we serve. How often do you draw near to God with a sincere heart to hear and act in accordance with His will and way?

For years I would cry to God for the things I wanted and the outcomes that I thought were best. I would anxiously and franticly go about trying to make everything the way I wanted.

Most often I see people going to God for what they want, not what they need. We don't want to hear from God about what He wants to give us. We think we know the best outcomes and the best ways to get what we want for ourselves and our families. And we certainly don't want to hear what we really need because often it involves hard growth, cultivating patience, faithfulness, self-control, self-discipline, and perseverance to make hard choices. God is always faithful to give us what we truly need. God is always faithful to love on us and grow us into the path He knows is best for us. Let's choose today to cultivate the courage and faith to ask God what we need and the courage to do it. Let's choose to look at our actions and reactions from a Godly perspective and start changing our words and deeds to be in alignment with His truth and His word. Let's praise and pray for the outcomes that will serve our growth and God's Kingdom agenda, His presence, Immanuel “God with us”, to be near to Him, to know Him better, to be more like Him, that is what we truly seek.  Our hope is in Him and so we are already assured the victory. What more could we want or need than to have God with us!!!

Father thank You for this day and for Your unending love. Lord open the floodgates of heaven and rain down Your abundant blessings upon my friend and family today. Lord thank You for being righteous and faithful. Lord we are so sorry that our sin made it necessary for You to suffer and die. Lord forgive us when we fail to be all You want us to be, when we say things we should not or fail to speak when we should. Lord fill us with love, compassion and forgiveness. Lord give my friend and I strength to stand for truth and to share Your gospel with all who will listen. Daddy we love you amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !!
