First and last

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭41‬:‭4

“Who has done this and carried it through, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, the Lord—with the first of them and with the last—I am he.””

I, the LORD, am the first; and with the last I am He: Here, the Lord God of Israel declares that He has performed and done it, calling the generations from the beginning. He lifts up and puts down kings and nations. He is the first and He is the last. He is the bookend both before and after the saga of human history, starting the story, ending the story, and keeping the whole story together. This verse claims the omniscient of an all knowing God.  He was First, His is Last. He has called each generation from the beginning of the existence of mankind on the earth. God is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. This is great comfort for us. We don't have to choose another deity in the course of our lives. We don't have to worry about our Father leaving us as prey for other gods. We don't have to worry about His Word becoming obsolete or outdated. He will be with us always. The Word of God is consistent from the beginning to the end. In the many references to God, calling Himself  I AM. This is not an easy concept for us.  It’s meaning is that He has always existed, and always will.  He has no beginning, no ending. He is the beginning and the end of all that He created. His knowledge so far surpasses ours that it simply cannot be compared. We would save ourselves a  lot of frustration if we would simply realize that we can never understand God in this life, but that He completely understands us. If God is both the first and the last, then He also has authority over everything in-between. This means that there absolutely is a plan of God for human history, and He directs the path of human events toward His designed fulfillment. Our lives are not given over to blind fate, to random meaninglessness, or to endless cycles with no resolution. Instead, the Lord God who is the first and the last directs all of human history as well our individual lives. The Lord is the creator. From the beginning, He has been showing His mighty works among His children. He is the first and last. No other god was there while the Lord created this universe and all the things in it!!!

Father thank You for this day and for Your mercy and grace. Thank You for You are faithful to lead and guide us by your Spirit. Thank You for Your faithfulness to lead and guide us by Your Spirit. Lord let Your abundant blessings be my friend and family’s portion today. Lord You will faithfully bring us into your presence upon Your return. Lord thank You for being our stable Rock and Refuge in times that are so unstable, transient, and fickle. Lord thank you for discharging and acquitting us from all evil allegations known or unknown. Lord thank You for supernatural enablement released unto me through Your  power. Lord use my friend to boldly proclaim the victory found in Your Word to all today. Daddy we love You amen.
