1 Corinthians 1:7-9
“Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
1 Corinthians 1:7-9 NIV
What we read in God’s word, He will be faithful too. We know that His purposes, He will be faithful to accomplish. His faithfulness is the focus in Christianity, not our attempts at faithfulness. It’s His faithfulness. And because He is faithful, then we have confidence today to live in light of His faithfulness, because of His faithfulness, we want to live in obedience today because we know, we know His word. He will be faithful to it. So we want to follow His word, we want to walk in His word Focusing on His faithfulness, changes everything. At the heart of following Jesus is the recognition that God (in Christ) is faithful. God is faithful to the promises of scripture. God is faithful in receiving our prayers. God is faithful in delivering us out of captivity to sin and death. God calls us into fellowship with the Son. God reveals God’s self in the breaking of bread and the sharing of the cup. God destroys us and resurrects us to new life in baptism. God is faithful. We are the called of God, the chosen of God, the elect of God, and enriched by God's grace simply because we believe God's Word and trusted the Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation. And God is faithful and just to fulfil all that He has promised to those that are called and chosen, to those that trust His Word. It was God Who planned the redemption of mankind before the foundation of the world, and by the grace of God, through faith in Christ, we have become the children of God and joint heirs with the beloved Son of His love. We are set apart unto God and called into fellowship with His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. We who trust in His redeeming blood for salvation have been promised eternal life, a heavenly home, and joy for evermore according to the riches of His grace. And God is faithful and just to fulfil all that He has promised to those who have trusted in Christ. God is the One Who called us and chose us, enriched us and seated us together with Christ in heavenly places, and He is faithful to His keep Word, even when we prove faithless towards Him. Let us endeavour to live our lives as unto Him, for we were bought with a price, the precious blood of the Lord Jesus and have been called into the fellowship of His Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ!!!
