Isaiah 61:7-9
“Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. “For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing. In my faithfulness I will reward my people and make an everlasting covenant with them. Their descendants will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the Lord has blessed.””
God wants to bless His people. He wants to demonstrate His love and kindness through His blessings bestowed upon His people. Jesus came that He might open up the blessing of God to those who believe. “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) God wants us to have not life, but life abundantly. Jesus came that we might have a life that is superabundant and more than enough, a double portion of life. God is not stingy with His blessings, but He gives more than what is needed. Anyone who lives in want is not living in the abundant life of the Lord. This does not mean that our every lustful desire will be met, but it does mean that God will give us double of what we need to live in everlasting joy. The way to living in this superabundant life is to learn to see it and to rejoice in our portion. These scriptures goes on to say that the people of the Lord will be recognized by the nations because of the blessings God has poured out upon them. God wants to bless us not only for our own sake, but also to demonstrate to the world that He is God. We are like a canvas upon which God wants to paint a picture of His love and care for mankind. The life that Jesus came to give us is not solely for our own benefit, but it is also meant to provide evidence to the world of who Jesus is. Jesus is alive, so you don’t need to live in shame. He died on the cross for your past shame so you can live in complete honor. Not just honor but double honor. No more feeling guilty or feeling like you’re not good enough because God has restored you. You now can walk in fullness. Jesus is alive so you no longer have to feel like a disgrace but instead you are worthy. Your mistakes don’t disqualify you but instead God wants to use them. When God uses your mistakes He turns them into blessings. Jesus is alive, so He wants to bless us in double portion. He wants to keep pouring His love on us. He died and rose from the dead for us. He has already done the ultimate deed to show us His love for us. But still , He wants to continue showing us how much He loves us. Jesus is alive, so now we have everlasting joy. No more sadness, no more feeling worthless, but now you can have everlasting joy. Joy is yours for the taking. Live a life full of joy it is your right. This life we have is the evidence that Jesus was the Son of God. We need to live this life not unto ourselves, but that the world might see the superabundance of the blessings of God. We need to let our light shine that the world may know and that all may believe!!!
