Doing Good

Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭9‬-‭10

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Life is filled with highs, lows, ups and down. The situations of life are sometimes in our control to a degree and then there are times when they are not. Regardless, they come on a daily basis and can often cause many to quit or just give up right where they are because they see no need to continue the fight or struggle in which they have found themselves in. God is able to provide us strength for the journey, strength for every thing that He has called us to do, strength for every test, trial and temptation. He is able to daily strengthen us so that we may endure until the end. True salvation is not just accepting Jesus into our hearts with an eye toward heaven in the future. It is an ongoing relationship with Jesus as my Lord. And that is what is reflected in this closing instruction in Paul’s letter to the churches of Galatia. Do not become weary in doing good to all. Especially to other believers. But doing good is active. It is something that takes effort on our part. Something that we could grow weary of. And something that is directed toward other people. Doing good means that when we see an opportunity to help another person, we take it. It may be something simple and with little cost. Or it may be more costly and time consuming. Doing good simply means that we do what we can to help others. This instruction to do good has all people in mind. Even those who are not believers. And even those that we may not get along with. If we can do good for someone, we should. But it is especially true for those within the family of believers. They are the ones we should care about. We should actively look for ways to do good, to be helpful to them. As you live your life with Christ, be doing good to all people, especially within the community of faith. If we remain faithful to the task that God has assigned to our hands, the question is not if we shall reap, but when we shall reap. We must wait until the season is right. In God’s time the reaping will come. The Word of God will never fail. Let us not grow weary in doing good. God never wearied in doing us good. He tolerated our unbelief and rebellion. He worked a work grace in our hearts bringing us to faith in Christ. If God never ceased to do good to us let us not grow weary in doing good to everyone!!!

Father thank You for this day and for the grace to show others in it. Lord open the floodgates of heaven and pour out your abundant blessings upon my friend and family today. Lord we want to press on in our Christian life, to become more and more like You. Lord we know that it will require us to put our hand to the plough and press on, with the patient endurance that only comes from You. Lord we pray that we may not lose heart or grow weary in doing the good works that You have prepared for us to do. Lord thank You that in due time we may reap a fruitful reward, if we do not give up. Lord use my friend to be a blessing that someone needs today. Daddy we love You amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !
