2 Corinthians 10:3-5
“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NIV
In our battle against evil, we use the spiritual weapons of God that enable us to know the truth and the freedom that the truth brings. The devil's greatest tools are deception and death. God's grace allow us to see through the deception and demolish its falsifying grip on the minds of men and women. God's power has broken through the barrier of death and given us victory in Jesus Christ. Our task in this victory march is to obey our Lord and help others to do the same, finding His grace and power sufficient to help us overcome all that we face that could defeat us. Our spiritual safety and strength does not lie in our own knowledge or the wisdom of others but lies in identifying and eliminating those thoughts that have anything to do with putting someone or something in the place of Christ, in our lives and our minds. God may use our own knowledge and the wisdom of others but only so far as Christ is preeminent in our hearts, for the measure of our own self respect, esteem, and wisdom lies in inverse proportion to that of Christ. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you win an entire army of angels that will help you in your spiritual battle. Every Christian, whether they recognize it for what it is or not, fights a spiritual battle against forces unseen. The weapons of our divinely inspired, spiritual warfare is the proclamation of the Word of God, together with a submissive heart and a bended knee. Our power does not come from our own clever conversation or witty words, but is evidenced in the man or woman who lives in full dependence upon God and relies on Him for His sufficient strength and Godly wisdom to guide them through life towards their spiritual home. Our adversary, the devil, roams about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, and there was much evidence of the enemy's meddlesome wiles in the lives of many of the Corinthian Christians for he seemed to have infiltrated every area of their everyday lives and spiritual walks. The Devil prowls around and seeks those who may falter in faith, those who are new in faith, those who are vulnerable and he brings them even further down. The more we think of the Lord Jesus, the less we think of ourselves. The greater He is the central focus of our thoughts, the more we have captivated every imagination in obedience to Christ. The superabundance of Christ in our thoughts means there is less influence from others and less inflation of self, until Christ is all in all!!!
Father thank You for this day and the strength and wisdom to walk in it. Lord let Your abundant blessings pour out over my friend and family today. Lord thank You that we have the Word of God and the power of prayer to demolish any long winded, ungodly opinions of people with their impressive credentials and dismissive policies. Lord may the words of my mouths and the thoughts of our hearts reflect the truth of Your Word. Lord too often our thoughts are not kept in captivity to obey You. Lord help us to become more and more captivated with You, so that all else melts away as we gaze on the beauty of His presence within our hearts. Lord use my friend to be the salt and light of Your Word to all today. Daddy we love You amen. Be a blessing. Love ya !!
