Blessed life

Psalms‬ ‭128:1-2‬

“Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭128:1-2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Too often in an effort to understand God, we reduce Him to a size that can fit within our own small minds. To help us guard against this limited thinking, Scripture commands us to hold God in awe. This psalm says that when we fear God, we begin the path to blessedness. This doesn’t mean being afraid of God, being paralyzed by fear, but being in awe and wonder of Him, holding Him in the highest possible regard. It means recognizing that He is Holy and we are not. It is then that blessings will come. If we put God at the center of everything we are, everything we think, and everything we aspire to do, then we are promised that it will be well with us. There is great promise for all of those who fear the Lord and walk in His ways. Have you ever been in a dry season where you have questioned the sanity of all the things that you have done as a result of faith? Have you spent extended seasons laboring in obedience before the Lord only to see less return than you had expected. Verse 2 carries a precious promise for those who are weary in well doing and for those who are just beginning their life journey in the things of the Spirit. “You will eat the fruit of your labor…” We do not have to live in fear that our labors have been or will be for nothing. The Lord’s promise is sure. If we walk in obedience and faithfulness before the Lord the reward is sure. The fruit of faithful labor in the Lord is centered on a few primary facets: “blessing and prosperity will be yours…” is the first facet of the reward of God. The Lord is faithful in the realms of both material and emotional reward. Happiness in a context of abundant provision is the promise of God. Not only does this passage provide assurance of God’s response to a faithful heart it speaks clearly to us of how our expectations should be formed and our faith directed. Living in a country where we have so many blessings and we take so much for granted, it is difficult to imagine how so many in the world actually live. Once in a while I hear stories of those in other countries who do not have the freedoms we have or who live in poverty with no hope of things getting better and I am touched deeply, for I have seen this first hand in countries I have been too. A reverence for our Almighty God and obedience to our Father's voice results in an abundance of spiritual fruit and a wealth of spiritual blessings. Blessed indeed is the one who fears the Lord and assuredly blessed is the one who walks in His ways!!!

Father thank You for this day and thank You that You are our God and our Savior. Lord let Your abundance flow from Your storehouses over my friend and family today. Lord thankYou for Your free gift of grace, which we received by faith. Lord may we reverence Your name forever and walk in Your ways all the days of our lives. Lord all our blessings are rooted and grounded in You. Lord we ask You to give us a greater sense of gratitude for the blessings we enjoy every day and too often take for granted. Lord use my friend to be someone’s blessing today. Daddy we love you amen. Be a blessing. Love ya
